MASTER'S DEGREE IN ENGINEERING AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
As part of the process submitted to the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (A3ES) for the renewal of accreditation for the Master’s in Industrial Engineering, a change in the course name was requested (and approved) to the new designation. Despite this change in the name, it is important to highlight that the nature of the course remains unchanged, still fitting within the area of Industrial Engineering. Only minor adjustments were made to the curriculum, resulting from the course’s experience and development over its more than twenty years of existence.
Operations Engineering and Management focuses on the application of engineering methods and management science principles in the design, organization, and management of production systems in both goods and service companies. The Operations Engineer and Manager directs their activities toward the rationalization of the company’s resource use (whether material, financial, or human) with the aim of improving its overall performance.
The goal of the Master’s in Operations Engineering and Management is to train professionals with advanced technical and scientific skills in the field of Operations Engineering and Management, with an emphasis on particularly attractive and/or emerging areas that are essential for the design, modeling, analysis, and management of today’s complex systems.
